David Adgate received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, then went on to earn his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School. While in law school, Dave focused on criminal law and civil litigation. After his first year of law school, he took a student-attorney position at the Washtenaw County Public Defender Office, where he met with clients and negotiated with prosecutors daily. Based on his success with cases, Dave received a Public Interest Fellowship, allowing him to balance his prior courtroom skills with the development of research and writing skills at the Federal Defender Office in Detroit.

As an attorney, Dave vigorously advocates for his clients, whether that be in court or negotiating with defense attorneys for favorable settlements. One of the most fulfilling parts of his work is talking with his clients, helping them traverse the complex issues that come with filing a lawsuit and addressing the most difficult legal issues head-on.
